Liberia’s men’s under-17 continued their tour of Austria with a 3-0 victory over a mixture of under-17 and under-18 of First Vienna FC at Home Warte in Vienna on 26 June.
Sam Vasco Sumo scored a brace and Divine Fallah Johnson, Jr. completed a resounding victory.
It is welcome news for the squad, who were hammered 6-0 by Red Bull Salzburg under-17 in Lindabrunn on 24 June following six changes made by head coach Ansu Keita and technical staff.
Goalie Mitchell Lavella, Alhaji Samukai, Alvin Kolo, Emmanuel Fully, Johnson and Sumo replaced goalie Onesimus Beyan, Anthony Gustavo Paska, Kindness Cole, Kindness Cole, David Menson, Jr., Stephen Davies and Aryeh Miller.
It appears Keita and crew, barring injuries, have a first eleven for July’s West African Football Union (WAFU Zone ‘A’) Nations Cup qualifiers in Cape Verde.
Beyan was the only player omitted from the squads that started the 2-1 win over Austrian Wien under-18 in Vienna on 23 June and 2-0 victory over Morocco under-17 in Monrovia on 11 June.
They will be hoping to make it three victories against Rapid Wien under-18 at 14:00GMT at the Allianz Stadion in Vienna on 28 June, having defeated Austria Wien under-18 2-1 in Vienna on 23 June.
