Former VP Boakai Expressed No Confidence In The Current Board Of Commissioners At NEC

Days after the Ruling of the Supreme Court in the Unity Party vs. CPP case, Former Vice President Joseph Boakia has expressed no confidence in the current board of Commissioners at the National Elections commission.

Speaking Monday June 6, 2022 at a Press Conference in Monrovia, former VP Boakai said most of those serving as commissioners of the National Elections Commission are incompetent and unpatriotic.

“To be frank with you I have no confidence in the National Elections Commission as it is now, because there are a lot of political leniency. There are a lot of incompetent and unpatriotic people and we don’t believe that they belong there.”

Reacting to the Supreme Court’s ruling, former Vice President Boakia said judging from the highest court’s decision, he does not believe the current NEC board of commissioners can take Liberia to 2023.

“They can’t lead us into 2023. I have no confidence in most of them there.” The UP political leader stated.
