Liberia agree to hold three-nation men’s under-17 friendlies

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has agreed to hold a three-nation men’s under-17 friendlies at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.

Sierra Leone will take on Morocco on 5 June and 8 June.

Morocco will also take on Liberia on 11 June and 13 June.

Liberia are using the matches to prepare for next month’s tour of Austria and the West African Football Union (WAFU Zone ‘A’) Nations Cup qualifiers in Cape Verde.

Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal and Sierra Leone are expected to participate with the champions and runners-up qualifying for a 12-team final in Algeria in 2023.

Our men’s under-15 team, which are transitioning to under-17, continued their preparation with a training at the on 17 May.

Head coach Ansu Keita led the training session, which kicked-off with drills by FIFA-badged referee emeritus George Rogers, Jr.

Liberia international Ashley Williams is training to provide motivation for the lads.

The team thrashed Teebey under-17 at the ATS 6-0 on 11 April and pinned Orange first division side Nimba United 1-0 at Tusa field on 8 April.
