The Office of the Presidential Press Secretary through Deputy Press Secretary Mr. Smith Toby has sharply rubbish accusations by the Executive Mansion reporters.
Reacting to aggrieved Executive Mansion’s Reporters Monday in Monrovia, Mr. Toby revealed that Cellphones recently given to some journalists in the country by President George Weah, was the President’s own way of appreciating media practitioners and not an entitlement of E-Mansion’s Reporters.
The Deputy Press Secretary said it is shameful and unfortunate for journalists covering the President to agitate for what was a generosity to their colleagues in the media.
Commenting on prioritizing some media institutions, Mr. Toby said the office of the Press Secretary rotates reporters on Presidential functions due to limited logistics to take all assigned 24-reporters on a trip.
Mr. Toby who was despondent over the aggrieved Executive Mansion reporters allegations, upbraid their request of a place in the Executive Mansion by saying, there is no space in Mansion for the Press Corps.
The Deputy Presidential Press Secretary however, used the occasion to reaffirm the commitment of the office of the Press Secretary to work with journalists assigned at the Executive Mansion.
Tobby stated that Journalists covering the Liberian Presidency concerns will be addressed but many of the counts raised by them are already been discussed to be resolved.
His reaction was triggered by a press conference held by the Executive Mansion Press Corps, in which the group disclosed major problems allegedly hampering their workings at the State House.
